Dr Lynne Roberts is a midwife with a great interest in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Lynne experienced preeclampsia in her first pregnancy which necessitated her son being born at 30 weeks gestation. Since this experience she has worked clinically caring for women who experienced pregnancy complications (mostly HDP), and for the past 20 years has been involved in research, particularly looking at the long-term health of women following HDP. She completed her PhD in 2019 with her thesis titled ‘Hypertension in pregnancy – gaining insight into women’s mental health and birth experience 6-12 months postpartum’. Lynne is in her third term of being President of Australian Action on Preeclampsia (AAPEC), a volunteer charity that provides support and information to women and families experiencing preeclampsia. She is passionate about improving the care that women with HDP receive both in the hospital and clinic setting, and beyond. |
